THESE OLD MEN…

Now we stand behind old mens faces,

Speak of forgotten times and places

So bent are those who wouldn’t break,

Who did fearsome things with lives at stake.

Their shadows sharp and darker then,

Now fading away are these old men,

But no one can steal the legends bold,

Not thieves nor liars nor growing old.

To never weave excuses that some men must,

But to stand with men who earned our trust,

And speak of what we did back then,

Before we became, these old men.
