During the three and a half years of OPERATION COMMANDO HUNT, the send off of a flight of Air Force, Navy and Marine pilots from their ready rooms regularly included a “good hunting” call from squadron mates and ground crews. Good hunting was the absolute requirement in THE WAR AGAINST TRUCKS.
Mighty Thunder goes to the final scorecards of the four “dry seasons” of OPERATION COMMANDO HUNT to indicate the essential and measurable contribution of the “war against trucks” as the North Vietnamese made end runs through Laos to support their combat ops in South Vietnam. There was a lot of good hunting… but was it enough?…
