Happy late June. The 4th of July is lurking just around the corner, with Labor Day the blink of an eye beyond. The year is flying by (no pun intended). RTR webmaster emeritus Bear Taylor asked that this excellent paper be posted on the homepage for ease of access. A link is also embedded in the RTR post for 27 June 1967. It is a PhD dissertation by William F. Andrews, Colonel USAF (retired). Highly recommended reading for anybody wishing to understand the motivation of U.S. airmen to fly, and fight, in a hugely unpopular war that carried an extraodinarily high cost of American lives.
